Publish fast, then let Search Console tell us what each post needs
For small-business owners on theStacc, and for our SEO team on managed sites. The idea from our SEO team: a post at 80% that ships today beats a perfect one next month, as long as we come back to it. Every post is checked at day 30, 60 and 90, gets a state, and gets one proposed change the owner approves.
How it works
- Checks on a schedule. Each post gets a Search Console snapshot at day 30, 60 and 90, then every 90 days: indexed, impressions, position, clicks and top queries.
- One state per post. Too new, not indexed, no search demand, off target, close to page 1, low click rate, healthy or declining. The example clinic has 24 posts: 5 too new, 4 with no demand, 4 close to page 1.
- One proposal per state. Request indexing or rewrite; retarget or merge; add a section for the queries Google actually sends; match the format searchers want (video and step diagram for "how to trim dog nails"); fix the title and meta.
- Shown as a diff, approved by the owner. 7 proposals wait in To review. Merges always ask again and show backlinks and conversions first. Nothing changes only the date.
- Ships as a new site version. On the theStacc website builder, approving publishes v38, moves the live pointer, updates the sitemap and requests indexing. Rolling back to v37 is free.
- Measured 28 days later. The change history compares 28 days before with 28 days after. The puppy vaccine post went from 11 to 34 clicks and from position 13.2 to 8.9. A title change that cut clicks is offered for rollback.
- Keyword suggestions. Queries at position 8 to 30 that no post targets become "add to page", "retarget" or "new post".
What it is and isn't
What's in it
- Pages list with state and next check
- Day 30, 60, 90 checks per post
- Proposals as diffs with evidence
- Merge with 301, never automatic
- Change history with before and after
- Rollback
- Checkpoint email
Not in this version
- Rewriting pages theStacc did not write
- Auto-shipping anything by default
- Updates on WordPress, Webflow and Ghost: create-only today, so we prepare the post and the owner pastes it
- AI-citation tracking per post
Release order
| Phase | What ships |
|---|---|
| A | Checkpoint snapshots, states and the Pages list. Uses the GSC sync and URL inspection we already have. |
| B | Proposals for no demand (retarget, merge) and unplanned queries (section, title, meta), approve and ship on the website builder and Shopify. Change history with before and after. |
| C | Search results format scan and asset upgrades: diagrams, tables, video from our video module. |
| D | WordPress update support, then Webflow and Ghost. Opt-in auto-ship for title, meta and FAQ. |
Still to decide
- Auto-ship low-risk changes? Recommended: off by default; opt-in for title, meta and FAQ only. Sections and merges always need approval.
- WordPress, Webflow, Ghost updates: build them or copy-paste? Recommended: build WordPress update first (most customers), copy-paste for the rest until then.
- Who decides merges on managed sites? Recommended: the SEO lead checks first, the owner approves; the owner can hand it over in Settings.
- Pages list or the Analytics insight cards (THE-290)? Recommended: both. Cards say what to do now; Pages holds state and history.
